Sisters in Celebration Initiatory System

The traditional teaching of the White Moon curriculum, as taught at Sisters in Celebration follows a four level initiatory system.

As a pre-Initiate, a sister discovers and learns about her-self and sisterhood. There are several opportunities to enhance personal growth through discussion and many volunteer opportunities in which a student may contribute.

After completion of Level One, a sister is considered to be an Initiate and will be offered the opportunity to take on certain voluntary roles and responsibilities within Sisters in Celebration. One such option is the role of Hearth Tender, which is in service to the Sisters in Celebration Community.

A sister working through Level Two towards the initiation as an Adept practitioner is considered to be in service to the Self, meaning that she has a responsibility to become the best person she can be, and to become further empowered. One such option is the role of Hearth Crafter.

A sister working through Level Three to become a Priestess is considered to be in service to the Community. Community, in this sense can mean the school list, but also means the larger community as well. At this level a sister begins towards the role of clergy as a Priestess and will have opportunity to accept added responsibilities. There are many and various opportunities to be in Service to Community, such as initiating discussions, organizing ritual, etc. One such option is the role of Hearth Priestess.

Once a Sister in Celebration Sister graduates from Level 3, we encourage her to take the B'tween Time course to explore her options as a Priestess.

Sisters in Celebration also offers Level Four, High Priestess training. An HP Candidate is considered to be developing her personal role and responsibilities in her Service to Goddess. She will often be led by Goddess into whatever work or area believed to be most appropriate. Even at this level the Service to the Self, to grow and develop, and to the Community never cease; it is an on-going process.

As a High Priestess, a sister may choose to become an ordained member of clergy, and also carrier of the tradition of the White Moon curriculum. She shows emotional maturity, personal integrity, depth of spirituality and commitment. As a High Priestess, the nature of Service can vary. A High Priestess can be involved in healing work, mentoring new students, prayer, magick and ritual, ecology or any area that serves the greater need and provides a focus for spiritual growth.

A High Priestess may be a High Priestess of the Hearth and be in service to the SIC community.  High Priestess within the Hearth have the ability to be of service by creating short courses and offering them. They may also be of service by donating the proceeds from a short course to assist SIC’s day to day workings and outreach programs. They can assist in monitoring those in the Hearthing program. As mentioned, the opportunities are immeasurable for any woman who chooses to remain at Sisters in Celebration after becoming a High Priestess. After completion of Level 4, a High Priestess may decide to create own separate ministry, and she will receive our lasting support as she creates this.
